British designer Sarah Burton designed this outfit for the fashion house Alexander McQueen as part of her Fall/Winter 2012-2013 women's ready-to-wear fashion collection during Paris Fashion Week March 6, 2012.
This dress was the key piece among the whole collection because of its laser cut prints.this outfit is a perfect blend of past + future
the volume around the waist reminds me of the bum roll and the extensive use of fur along the shoulders and cuffs also seem to be taken from renaissance clothing
the mettalic bow belt and the glasses gives a futuristic look
The intresting aspect of this dress is its laser cutwork and the fusion of past and future look.the motifs on the dress looks like stencil art practiced in many parts of India.
The Indian cutworks on kurtas also resembles somewhat the same.

this otufit is designed by Bibhu Mohapatra for his collection in LFW2012 -Resort wear

Thats a fair bit of information you've found and it is also very interesting to note that you are able to identify influences of costume in contemporary fashion. Good job there..
ReplyDeleteHowever what I am really missing is your ability to relate these to your own style statement. For example, the metallic bow belt is something that can be easily incorporated into a casual day wear outfit. Food for thought?
